Root to Rise is about grounding deeply — mentally, physically, and energetically — so you can rise with strength, resilience, and intention. To me, it means connecting body and mind, building a solid foundation, and allowing yourself to grow stronger both on and off the mat.
My classes blend powerful, dynamic movement with moments of stillness, breath, and reflection. Students are guided through challenging yet accessible postures, followed by restorative practices that invite deep release and integration. I believe true transformation happens when effort and ease exist together.
When you practice with me, my hope is that you leave feeling calmer, more relaxed, strong, accomplished, and deeply aligned with your inner light and sense of peace. My intention is to help students cultivate resilience — physically through movement, and mentally through breath, awareness, and meditation.
Root to Rise is guided by Nicole, a 200-hour certified yoga teacher devoted to creating grounded, transformative practices that support both body and mind.
My yoga journey began in 2010, but it wasn’t until after the birth of my first child in 2019 that the practice truly became transformative. In the postpartum season, yoga helped me rediscover myself — not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It offered grounding when everything felt new, overwhelming, and unfamiliar, and it gave me an entirely new perspective on life.
Through consistent practice, yoga transformed every aspect of my being. It strengthened my body, quieted my mind, and helped me reconnect with who I truly am beneath the noise of daily life. After experiencing firsthand how powerful and healing this practice can be for both body and soul, I felt deeply called to share it with others.
I moved to Atlanta in September of 2024 and, while settling in, found myself searching for a practice that fully aligned with the style of yoga I know and love — one that blends strong, intentional movement with deep meditative restoration. That search ultimately inspired me to complete my 200-hour yoga teacher training in Vinyasa, Hatha, and Pranayama, with additional training in Yin Yoga, so I could bring this style of practice directly to my community.
My teaching style is grounded, steady, and empowering. I place a strong emphasis on presence and awareness, while also reading the room and meeting students exactly where they are. Yoga is an incredibly personal and intimate journey, and I pride myself on offering a practice that supports each student’s individual needs.
I encourage students to show up as they are — without judgment or expectation — and to practice in a way that feels authentic to them. No two classes are exactly the same, because no two groups of students are the same.
My classes are rooted in the full scope of the Eight Limbs of Yoga, including ethical principles, personal observances, physical postures (asana), breath control (pranayama), concentration, meditation, and the cultivation of blissful awareness. The practice extends far beyond the physical shapes; it is a way of moving, breathing, and living with intention.
The state of the world can feel heavy, overwhelming, and fast-paced. Yoga offers a space to step away from that weight — to breathe, soften, and simply exist in peace. I encourage students to surrender fully to the practice as a pathway toward true inner evolution.
Yoga is for every body. Strength or flexibility is not required to begin — both are natural side effects of consistent, mindful practice. Through my training, I have developed a deep understanding of human anatomy and how to move safely through even the most challenging postures in a way that is accessible, supportive, and empowering for all levels.
At my core, I believe we are all eternal, beautiful, blissful souls having a human experience. Serving others through yoga feels like my highest calling, and it is an honor to guide students as they reconnect with themselves, build strength, and cultivate peace.
If we all practiced yoga — on and off the mat — I truly believe the world would be a more grounded, compassionate, and beautiful place.
Root down. Rise with intention.
